Spider-Man: No Way Home

Spider-Man: No Way Home

Spider-Man: No Way Home is a major American upcoming film based on Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. It is intended to be a competition between Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far Home (2019), and the 27th film Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Jon Watts, written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, and stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, alongside Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, JB Smoove, Benedict Wong, Willem Dafoe Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx. In the film, Parker enlists the help of Stephen Strange to help keep his identity as a Spider-Man confidential as well, which has led to other dangers.

The third MCU Spider-Man film was targeted in early 2017, during the making of Homecoming. In August 2019, negotiations between Sony and Marvel Studios to change their contract - where they were producing Spider-Man films together - ended when Marvel Studios left the project. However, fan overreaction led to a new agreement between the two companies a month later. Watts, McKenna, Sommers, and Holland would return at that time. Recording began in October 2020 in New York City, before moving to Atlanta later that month. During the filming, Foxx and Molina were revealed to have appeared in the film, starring characters in previous Spider-Man films. The title was unveiled in February 2021, before the filming of the film at the end of March.

Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer

Spider-Man: No Way Home first trailer

After the trauma of Sony and Marvel last night, when the trailer for their upcoming tentpole Spider-Man: No Way Home has found a way online, the studios have decided that, well, don’t bet, let’s just take it all out. Earlier tonight, they did that. So now everyone is happy. The studios should remind fans and shareholders that, fear not, another Spider-Man film is coming to theaters, and fans are getting a little bit of that Sam Raimi stuff they were longing for. But before we go any further, please get rid of the trailer.

Here’s the description from the trailer:

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: No Way Home Plot

Spider-Man: No Way Home

Spider-Man: No Way Home takes place after the Spider-Man events: Away from home, but what Peter Parker (Tom Holland) would like us to think beforehand, might not have happened. So you do what any young boy does after the shocking cable news in front of you all over the world, he calls Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), or “Stephen” as Parker calls him. Dr. Strange, wearing a T-shirt - brother, waking up in a frenzy after the whole Endgame debacle - did everything he could and was confused by the passage of time so that Peter would not be known again. Strange spelling casts "many verses" because Peter will never stop talking, and it revives the ghosts of Spider-Man's previous movies.

So those who hope a little bit of this In Spider-Verse Action get their wish. Willem Dafoe's Gil Goblin's plots and Alfred Molina's explicit portrayal of Dr. Alfred Molina have answered some of the biggest speculations surrounding the movie — although it sounds like these moments will appear very briefly in the film

Spider-Man: No Way Home Cast

Spider-Man: No Way Home

Yes, Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker, AKA Spider-Man, but he may look very different from the third movie - and we're not just talking about his body modification.

He just went straight to filming Unchched went to Spidey's third movie and offered that his unruly hair was "very cool", Holland admitted he refused to wear a wig to make his hair look exactly like Peter Parker's.

With different hairs or not, Holland will also be joined by Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon have also returned as Peter's BFF Ned.

Tony Revolori will be back as Flash Thompson, more concerned about Spider-Man, but constantly humiliating Peter Parker (unpopular). Hannibal Buress also looks set to return as Coach Wilson after sharing the set videos.

Another star who confirmed their return is JB Smoove as Peter’s pastor Julius Dell. Benedict Cumberbatch will appear as Doctor Strange, taking on the role of mentor played by Tony Stark and Nick Fury in previous movies, although it is unclear how big he will play.

In comedy, Doctor Strange was one of the heroes Peter Parker turned to when his identity was revealed to the world. As that happened at Far Home, you may need the help of Dr. Strange to make the world forget.

Enough with the MCU characters, as the big news for the third movie is that Jamie Foxx is writing his role as Electro of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Alfred Molina is back as Doc Ock of Spider-Man 2.

They’re not in those MCU movie theaters, and from what Molina has to say about her return, it looks like they’ll be back as we last saw them.

"Everywhere you look today, the tide of protectionist sentiment is flowing.

It has also been reported that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will return as their team faces Peter Parker, and will be joined by Kirsten Dunst's Mary Jane Watson and Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy.

As of July 20, the reported return of previous Spider-Man stars has not been officially confirmed by Marvel or Sony, with some stars recording history saying they do not exist at all.
